Sexy Bustier Cake

Up untill now, all of my cakes that I have decorated have only been buttercream frosting. Why? Because I have only taken Course 1 of the Wilton Cake Decorating classes so far. I have been dying to learn the fondant skills because it is this style of decorating that I originally was turned on by. My sister wanted a special cake made for her husband for his birthday and I knew that it simply had to be done in fondant in order to reach the desired result as to what she wanted. Soooo...I got a fondant recipe, and with some help from a fellow cake decorator and friend (thanks Kristy!) I was able to pull it all together for my first fondant cake. Ta-Da!

Here's my sister, Anna, posing with the cake...ha ha ha.

Fun and Funky T-Shirt Skirt

I took another stab at upcycling t-shirts into a skirt. I'm glad I did because I love mine. Although it's a little loud in colors, it's unique, which I love....oh, and VERY comfortable! Why do you think we wear t-shirts as casual wear? Because they're comfy, and if we can move comfy from above the waiste to below the waste, even better. :) Take a look into your closet for a couple of t-shirts you no longer wear and convert them into a cute A-line t-shirt skirt of your own using this tutorial.

My bow bag

After all of the totes that I have been doing lately, it was time I did one for myself!! I finally got around to buying the supplies, and eventually sat myself down to put it all together. I'm happy to say that I have finished my new tote, and I love it! Leave a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks for looking. :)

Cancer Awarness Tote ~ Pink Charm Jewelry

Breast Cancer is something that affects us all in one way or another. It is deeply inspiring to see people from diverse backgrounds come together at the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer to help raise money for research to help cure this disease. This tote was inspired by a fund raiser to donate money to the Avon Walk ~ this tote proudly displays the pink awareness ribbon. (Click on each picture for a larger view.)

This purse was requested by a friend who is generously donating her time towards making charm bracelets and necklaces with the pink ribbon charm (pictured below) with all of the proceeds being donated towards the Walk. The bracelets are $15 and the necklaces are $20 and you may place an order for these or get more more info on how to donate to Kristy by emailing her at bizatchgirl@yahoo.com (with "bracelet" in the subject line).

If you are interested in purchasing the Pink Ribbon tote, the price is set at $40 (plus s/h). Please email pinkdragonflyorders@yahoo.com (with "Pink Ribbon tote" in the subject line). All profits from the totes will be donated as well.

Onsies into T-Shirts

Wouldn't it be great if our little ones could stay cute and tiny forever? Well that will never happen. They'll grow up and all of those precious clothes that you received at the baby shower just won't fit any more because the evergrowing kid is getting as tall as a bean stalk. So what to do with the clothes? Continue using them! And no, not as a rag. As more baby (toddler) clothes! Thanks to Tiny Decor for providing this tutorial for converting your child's onsies into toddler t-shirts. Anything to save you from buying more clothes (especially when the stuff you already have is in perfect shape) is deffinitely worth a try. I converted these for my nieces, and let me tell ya, the 20 minutes each that it took - well worth it.

Dumbell Weight Cake

Made for a body builder who is committed to fitness and health. For his birthday I incorporated his love for exercise by placing a dumbell weight (made out of cake) on the cake. He adored it! Happy Birthday, Keenan!
