A "Manly Blanket" for a Manly Man

My finace requested a large blanket "big enough for a MAN! After about 14 skiens and 11 months later (he's very patient and we live in Phoenix so wasn't in a big hurry) I crocheted out a huge king size blanket perfect for lounging around (and cuddling) in. Enjoy Baby!

Red Mirror Scarf

I absolutely love this scarf pattern! It makes for a warm, cozy, and decently sized scarf. I just finished this order for a coworker...it should keep her nice warm the rest of the season :)

Sophia's Baby Blanket

Made this for my boyfriend's newest little niece, Sophia Juliette...the cutest little thing: Sophia, not the blanket. lol

Pitcher Vase and placemat

As You Wish has struck again in my home, this time with a new vase for my kitchen table. I can't stay away from that place. LOL It took about 3 visits to the store for me to hand paint this, but I love it!

I made this to rest my new vase on, just a simple little crocheted mat made out of scrap yarn.

Star Pattern

I just finished making one of these for a project that I'm currently working on and just had to share it as it was incredibly easy and only took about 5 minutes to make...maybe less. Another Lacy scarf - Mirror Lake Scarf

Lose Weight by Crocheting!!

Okay so this posting doesn't have anything to do with something I've made, but while web surfing for new ideas on crochet, I found this article via another blog, the Crochet Spot, that lists "50 Ways to Cut 500 Calories a Day" listing #21 as "Get out your knitting needles"...awesome!! Yeah, it says knitting, but since I have yet to bring myself to knit, crochet should get the job done, too! I'm sure Rachel over at the Crochet Spot agrees with me too. lol Anyways, with all of these new year's resolutions going around by weight loss...I thought this article could offer some suggestions. Personalized Peace Bag

My co-worker, Stacey, requested two of these for Christmas presents for her daughters, Bella and Kelsie. One side has a peace sign, the other displayed each of their initials...from what I hear, the girls wear them everyday. :)

Kithen Towel Toppers

Every year I like to use one of my hobbies to make up some gifts for my co-workers, just to spread some Christmas cheer. This year I settled on kitchen towels with crocheted toppers for the ladies and home baked cookies for the men (men are too easy). I knew the theme in a few of the ladies' kitchens so I knew what type of towel to use, the rest I just sort of felt out. Each got a set of two coordinating towels. I searched through several patterns before I found one that I liked.

Braided Scarf

My sweet, sweet, sweet Mommy has made me a few scarves in my life time, and each time I wear one of them, I always think of her when I put them on. And then again through out the day when I get tons of compliments on them. I always brag how my mother made them for me and I wear them with pride and love. One particular scarf was a favorite of my managers and she had make a comment that she would like to order a replica of it from me...instead I whipped one up and gave it to her as a Christmas present. So now when I see her wear it, I'll think of Mommy again! :) Sorry it's not the best of pictures (I was lacking a model).

New Beginnings Scarf

Made this scarf for my Nana as a Christmas present. I have decided if I'm going to make a matching hat or not. Stay tuned to find out :)

Doggie Sweater 1

The holidays are coming up soon and the weather is getting colder. With all the hustle to plan holiday dinners and finding the perfect gift for all of your friends and loved ones, don't forget about the ones who are always by your side loving you no matter what...your pet! Some people say that it's torture to animals to "force" them to wear clothing. However, I say that if they look cute, and they ain't complaining, why the heck not?? I stitched up this little sweater here for the colder days (although they are few and far between here in AZ) which my little angel, Honey, is modeling. Doesn't she look so cozy?

Doggie Sweater 2

In addition to the first sweater I made, I made these for the more not so cold days, but are on the brisk side. I guess you could call these "sweater vests" since they don't have any sleeves. lol Honey is wearing the purple, and lil Sedona is in the pink. Happy Birthday, Stefanie!

Today is one of my best friend's birthday. Of all people, I just have to make something special for Stefanie! Stef's gotta a thing for frogs, last time I checked, anyways...so I made a made a frog and lily pad themed cake for her.

For a birthday present, I whipped up one of my tote bags, but I decided to try something a little different on this one. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pics but this one is almost 1/2 the size bigger than the original...almost the size of an overnight bag. Stef also has these cute butterfly tattoos on her wrists that partially inspired me for this purse (check out the liner).

And you can't give a birthday present without giving a birthday card...well you can, but where's the fun in that? Especially if you enjoy making the cards yourself, like I do! I topped off the ensemble with this stary card.

Cupcake purse

This bag was requested for a little girl's birthday. I was told that she was a cute, petite, girly girl. The bag measrured a little more than half the size of the normal crochet totes that I make. This one is sporting a cupake in one corner on one side, and the little girl's initials "BB" on the opposite corner on the other side. So cute.

Crochet Beanie Hat

I know winter is still a ways away (hard to forget with the scorching Arizona heat out my door) but I received my first "male" order which was for a beanie hat. I guess he just wanted to be prepared for the first chill. :) I'll probably be making more of these closer to the fall and winter.

My bow bag

After all of the totes that I have been doing lately, it was time I did one for myself!! I finally got around to buying the supplies, and eventually sat myself down to put it all together.
